For industrial refrigeration applications, Tranter's shell and plate heat exchangers enable high efficiency, safety and reliability when using ammonia or mixed hydrocarbons as refrigerant. 

Cold storage warehouses

In large-scale cold storage facilities, heat exchangers are employed to maintain the interior at low temperatures for the preservation of perishable goods. They remove heat from the air within the storage space, keeping it chilled to the required level. Tranter’s plate heat exchangers aid in reducing the energy consumption by batch operations enabling the chiller to operate at optimum, utilizing the extra chiller capacity during low loads and to cool the water/glycol mix in the cold storage tank for use when the cooling load is heavy.
