SUPERCHANGER® Exchangers Receive ARI Standard 400 Certification
WICHITA FALLS, TX — Tranter’s “A” line of SUPERCHANGER®
Plate & Frame Heat Exchangers has received the Air-Conditioning,
Heating and Refrigeration Institute’s (AHRI) certification for
liquid-to-liquid, plate-type heat exchangers. The ARI certification
covers 40 units, from the ACD-008 to the AXD-205.The ARI Standard 400
certification establishes benchmarks for product performance excellence
and was developed to provide a common and consistent method of
evaluating the thermal performance of liquid-to-liquid heat exchangers.

AHRI is the trade association representing manufacturers of air conditioning, heating and commercial refrigeration equipment. An internationally recognized advocate for the industry, AHRI develops standards for and certifies the performance of many of these products. ARI Standard 400 applies to liquid to liquid heat exchangers utilizing water, ethylene glycol solutions (maximum of 60% ethylene glycol by volume), propylene glycol solutions (maximum of 60% propylene glycol by volume), or sea water, used in an HVAC application with duties up to 24,000,000 BTU/hr.

Vänersborg plant receives ASME certification
Tranter’s production plant in Vänersborg has received a certificate of authorization for using the indicated symbol of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for its manufacturing of pressure vessels. This means that Tranter meets the high ASME standards and can provide customers with heat exchangers produced in accordance with the applicable rules of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Tranter wins MTU Award
MTU is one of the worldwide leading manufacturers for
Diesel Engines. MTU Friedrichshafen (former Maybach Motorenwerke) has
almost 100 years tradition in developing and manufacturing of diesel
engines.
Their product range is one of the biggest in this business. Their engines cover a big capacity spectrum from 20 – 9000 kW and suit to drive vehicles, ships and aggregates.
Marine engines are one of the main applications for MTU and the engine series 2000 (300 – 1500 kW) and 4000 (700 – 3500 kW) are high volume products.
TRANTER International AB supplies the Titanium plates for the sea water cooler (Plate Heat Exchanger) on the 2000 series.

Tranter International AB has acquired P&D service in Halmstad, Sweden
Tranter International AB on September 1st 2008 acquired P&D service in Halmstad, the leading service company for heat exchangers in Sweden. The former P&D organization will in the future continue to serve all brands on the Swedish market, under the name Tranter International AB, Halmstad. MD Daniel Svensson will also remain as site manager.
Tranter in Europe has service centres in UK, Germany and Italy since before, and will now also be able to provide Scandinavian customers with support and service closer to the markets where they are operating.

Tranter Acquires Pressko AG
Tranter, a world leader in gasket and welded heat exchanger products and technology, has announced the acquisition of Pressko AG located in Artern Germany. This acquisition supports the Tranter strategy of acquiring businesses that support its existing businesses in markets with excellent growth potential.
Pressko was founded in March of 2000. Its focus has been high pressure, high temperature fully welded products for markets including refrigeration, chemical, pharmaceutical and marine applications. World wide sales are $8 million.
Pressko will become part of Tranter Europe providing a welded product base in one of the worlds most significant heat exchanger markets.
